Murdock Takes Out 2018 MSC Best and Fairest

September 5, 2018

The MSC held its annual seniors presentation night on Saturday September first. The Maryborough Golf Club provided the venue for the event, providing delicious food, great service and an atmosphere unrivalled as the sunset over the alfresco area. The team were all dressed to their best as they looked to celebrate the achievements of the club in 2018.

Coach Peter Forward was thanked for his contributions to the club in his first year as senior coach. There is no doubt that under his leadership, the side has improved its on-field performances.

The current 2018 committee was also thanked for its continuous support of the side throughout 2018.

The highly anticipated Best and Fairest vote count then took place with defender Neil Smyth taking out Runner Up Best and Fairest on 19 votes and Goalkeeper Jay Murdock winning the club's most prestigious award by a single vote, tallying 20. Striker Tom Clinton won the club's 2018 Golden Boot award following his tally of 8 goals scored.

The MSC wishes to congratulate all of our BDSA players on their successful 2018 campaign and to those players who took out individual awards on the night.

The senior side will now take a short break before re-grouping again to begin pre-season training.
